We start tours once there is enough snow on the ground, typically in late November or sometime in December. It is unlikely we can start tours before November 20. We continue tours through the end of March, but that, too, is dependent on snow and temperatures. We only run tours during daylight hours.
Each participant 16 years or older will drive their own snowmachine. We take groups of up to 6 snowmachines out at a time. We do this because it makes for a more enjoyable experience for the guests. It is possible (and likely) that people will get their machine stuck in the snow. When this happens, everyone has to stop while the tour guide helps them get unstuck. If there are more than 6 machines on a tour, it increases the amount of wait time for others to get unstuck substantially. In our experience, we have found 6 machines to be a manageable size tour where more time can be spent riding rather than waiting for people to get unstuck.
We have a track around the Midnight Sun Golf Course that a guide will lead you through. It takes approximately 30 minutes to go around the track. If you book an hour tour, you will go around the track twice.
Possibly! We have moose, fox, lynx, coyotes and various birds that live on or frequent the property. While we cannot guarantee a wildlife sighting, it does happen often. If you see an animal, do not approach it! It could be very dangerous for you and the animal.
Depending on the schedule of the day, we may be able to add more time to your tour. In our experience, most people enjoy their time so much, they'd prefer to do a full hour (or wish they would have booked a full hour!). We've only had a couple people book an hour and then decide to stop half-way through. You're likely going to want more time.
It must be warmer than -20 degrees Fahrenheit for us to run tours. We have gear to keep you warm to that point, but it becomes unsafe for you and our guides past that.
Possibly! Please call (or better yet text us) at 907-231-6148 to see if we have any last minute openings.
Absolutely! Our guides know some great spots to stop and take pictures. We would love for you to share them on our page on Facebook!
We can sometimes assist with transportation. Please text us at 907-231-6148 to see if that is a possibility for your group. The local taxi companies or rideshare app companies can provide transportation to/from our location.
The weight limit on our machines is 350lbs.
They can ride with you, assuming the total weight between the two of you does not exceed 350lb. Riders must be between 10 and 15 years old. We only have a couple snowmobiles that can hold passengers, so if there are multiple children in your group, we may need to split your group. We do not provide proper supervision for minors left in our clubhouse. Due to our licensing, all minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult while on our property. An adult from your party will need to stay with them if they are not joining you on the tour.
No. We do not allow people 16 years or older to ride as passengers. Our guides are great at patiently teaching people and making them feel comfortable, even if they have no previous experience.
Yes! We have a clubhouse where they can wait. There are warm drinks available for purchase and beautiful snow covered views for them to enjoy while they wait.
Depending on the schedule, we might be able to accommodate private tours, but we cannot guarantee that. We may put a few pairs of guests all on the same tour.
We do tours for up to 6 people (drivers) at a time. If you have more than 6 people (drivers), you can split into two or more tours. Trust us, it will be a more pleasant experience, spending less time getting stuck and spending more time riding.
No. We only run tours during daylight hours. December 21st is the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year (technically, the day is the same length, but we have the least amount of sunlight on that day). Dates closer to December 21st have fewer tours available than those in February or March when the daylight is longer.
Nope. You can choose to tip your tour guide, but it is in no way required.
Yes. We typically run tours seven days a week whenever we are able.
Yes. This is a beginners guided tour. If you are looking for high speed, this is not the adventure for you.
No. We do not rent snowmobiles to take off property nor to be used outside of our guided tours on property.
Yes. You can call or text us at 907-231-6148. Our cell phone reception is weak, so communication via text is clearer and easier.
